Writing
Regardless of how many different facets of journalism I try, writing will always be my truest passion, and continues to bring me the most joy. Take a look at some of my favorite projects!

The Columbia Missourian
The Columbia Missourian is Columbia, Missouri's local newspaper, as well as being a teaching paper closely associated with the Mizzou school of journalism. I am currently working as a State Government beat reporter, as well as working GA shifts in the general newsroom, giving me practical experience on the job. In the past, I have also reported on the City and County Government beat.

KOMU TV 8
KOMU is the official NBC affiliate news station in Columbia, Missouri, where I work as a digital producer. My role is multifaceted, but a large piece is writing short articles for the web based on press releases and court records, which has increased my speed and accuracy in writing, as well as providing me valuable experience writing with limited information. I also monitor breaking news as it comes in, cut video from broadcasts, and work with social media.

The Maneater
The University of Missouri's top student publication, The Maneater, has been active on campus for over 75 years, and it has been an honor to be part of this Mizzou tradition. My freshman year, I served as a News Reporter, and this year I am a News Editor, allowing me to oversee a staff of 50 writers.

Jae's Travel Journal
Jae's Travel Journal is my passion project, a Substack dedicated to sharing my experiences traveling the world. I started the project in fall of 2025 with an archive of old journals, and have strived to keep it updated since then as a way to keep my writing skills sharp and stretch myself in a different way.

The Spartan Shield
My journalism abilities simply wouldn't be what they are today without my high school newspaper, the Spartan Shield. I first joined my junior year, and immediately fell in love with the power of journalism. In my time on staff, I had the privilege of serving as news editor, copy editor, and Editor-in-Chief.
