Family Resources
When I began my internship, the Family Resources Instagram was active, but inconsistent. Photos were displaying in poor quality, and the page didn't display the agency's colors.
I outlined a few major goals for this platform during my time there:
-
Increase usage of the colors in the agency's brand kit
-
Balance repetition and variety
-
Improve image quality
-
Implement usage of Reels

Over my three months spent at Family Resources, the Instagram saw a 94% increase in views, a 87% increase in reach, a 100% increase in interactions, and a 166% increase in follows.
Of the changes I implemented over this time, I think the ones I'm proudest of are the use of Instagram stories and adjusting the aspect ration, which makes the feed look cleaner overall. I also was excited to introduce the use of reels, which add a behind-the-scenes feel to the page.
TikTok
Another one of my jobs at Family Resources was to create a TikTok for the organization. Because of the sensitivity of their work, I was limited in what I could feature, so I decided to create videos that would highlight events and resources available to the public.
Jae's Travel Journal
As I've grown my personal travel journal Substack I've also take steps towards a multi-platform presence, using it as an opportunity to work on my social media design and content creation skills
TikTok
On TikTok, my priority is crafting an atmosphere that feels genuine to who I am and what I want my presence to be. My most successful videos have been photo slideshows featuring my rankings of foods and experiences, but I've also worked on my short-form video editing skills.
My Instagram posts typically promote journal posts on my Substack, but I've also begun to utilize the text feature on stories to tag the places I highlight in my "Best Of" posts, allowing me to connect with broader audiences and point my followers directly towards my recommendations.
